HLTH 630 Final Research Paper (Liberty)
Abstract
This piece will discuss healthcare-associated infections as a significant public health concern. Some of the common types of infection is discussed as well as existing guidelines for prevention. Even with the knowledge available to prevent infection, healthcare-associated infections remain a threat to public safety and a costly healthcare concern for hospitals and other healthcare organizations. This public health issue is an objective in the Healthy People 2020 effort as it still requires attention to reduce the rate of patients infected.
